We just purchased 3 nights, Dec. 30, 2008 - Jan. 2, 2009, for my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary through rentals at Redweek.com. The purchase of the rental from the timeshare owner and confirmation of the reservations was a breeze! To our delight, my parents raved about TMC and how pretty and clean it was, especially the 2 bathrooms! They said the one bedroom suite was super-clean and luxurious. The 2 bathrooms were beautiful. The location was fantastic! They were able to walk downstairs and see the ball drop right from the corner of the hotel! The pictures prove everything they said. They said the check in was convenient and the room was ready by 3:30 pm. The porters, housekeeping and concierge staff was very friendly, while some at the front desk were not as friendly. All in all, they rated their stay a 4.50% on a scale of 1 - 5 and are definitely planning to go back and stay at TMC. I am seriously considering purchasing a timeshare for myself.

Nicely located hotel which was the main reason for the stay. Stayed in July on the 16th floor in a 1 BR with a view of the park. Nice unit from both a size and decor perspective, with 2 nicely sized bathrooms and a kitchenette with an under-the-counter fridge, microwave, sink and coffee maker. I had 2 concerns:

1) 2 of the 3 elevators were out for the week, and while they did allow guests to use the staff elevator, the waits were a low of 3 minutes to 16 minutes. 2) While the king bed in the bedrooom was very, very good, my daughters could not sleep on the pull-out couch - springs practically sticking out of the cover and the bar from the couch was therefore digging into them. They didn't have another mattress, so we put the mattress on the floor, layered it with extra blankets, then made it up like a platform bed. Since they were happy enough with it I didn't make a fuss, but if an adult was in that situation, I don't know how the hotel would handle a serious complaint.

So if you go, understand the pros and cons and enjoy the city!

Went for a few nights last month and my first stay in a renovated room. Big difference and I'm glad to see that the large increase in maint fees is going for something. Very, very comfortable and, to me, no longer a compromise. Beds, TVs excellent. Wireless internet finally worked flawlessly. Couch not the most comfortable but decent.

As owners, we were very happy. It's a very comfortable oasis for us in the city. And at the resale prices I've seen on RedWeek, it can be a steal.

The penthouse suites are very luxurious and the size is very appealing compared to a typical hotel room in NYC. We comfortably fit 4 adults and two preteens in the suite. The suite offers many appreciated anemities, kitchenette, 2 bathrooms, 2 televisions and internet access in the bedroom. The location can't be better, just minutes from Times Square and Central Park and a convenient taxi or subway ride to Penn Station or downtown. We love the Manhattan Club.

I have been an owner since it's opening, When they became available I upgraded to the penthouse suite. Although there have been inconviences over all the MHC location, staff and amenities have lived up to expectations. When you compare value to cost you will definitely receive more at the MHC then in a comperable NY hotel. Remember you are in a suite that includes a master bed room with a king size bed, a TV and it's own large bathroom, a living room with a pull out queen size couch/bed, a 2nd TV, a kitchenette, and a 2nd large bath, it is not just a hotel room. The latest information received by the owners is that the original suites are in the process of beiing upgraded to include plasma TVs. Again cost value relationship I believe is in favor of the MHC.

Best location in New York City!! The size of rooms is about average for the city, small compared to Orlando and other places I've stayed. The reason for the 4 star is the location, everything else is decent and was in working order.

Just came back from an RCI trade into this resort. First the positive - location, location, location. That said, here are my negatives - Suites can be extremely small! My unit did not give you enough room to close the curtains or turn out the lights in the living room if the fold- out couch was open, (less than 8 inches to squeeze by end), room is that small! The couch presented it's own set of problems, was very uncomfortable to sit or sleep on. When we went searching for the problem, discovered some of the springs supporting the mattress where broken. Reported (1st of 3 times) the problem afternoon of 2nd day. No response from hotel maintanance for 2 days, finally sent up a marginaaly acceptable fold out single to set up in living room making the couch unusable to use. AC did not work well (heat wave in NYC this week) and same thing, took 3 calls and almost 2 days for a response and a much needed filter change. Wireless internet access only usable in morning, inpossible to stay on at night, keep losing signal. Dark single window bank for entire suite, facing into 25 story service courtyard. Kitchen so small can't really be called one, almost no counter space in bathroom (narrow pedestal sink), very small single shower, no cabinet for clothes storage wxcwpt for nightstands, extremely small closets... Let's just say I'm glad I'm not an owner here. Sorry

I recently stayed for the first time. I am a new owner and had my worries because of previous reviews. Arnie and Tiffaney treated us like VIPs. We were given a great suite with many windows and a nice view to Carnegie Hall. The rooms have a reasonable size, they are elegant and well taken care off. The staff were polite and helpful. The Manhattan Club's location is so convenient, you could basically walk to any Broadway show. My only suggestion is to make reservation well in advance. That's not a problem for us because our vacation time is very predictable.

Great location, 3 blocks from central park, 5 from times square. Rented here in March 2007. Great rate for NYC, unit was smaller and not as luxiorious as expected. Excellent concierge service -- highly recommend. Would go back but would check out other options first.

We travelled from Australia & have spent 7 days at this wonderful resort.

It is situated in a very good location right near Broadway & close to Times Square.

The apartment we could not fault & highly recommend it as an ideal place to stay while in New York City.

Staff were very helpful & friendly too.

LOVED this place. Around the corner from Carnegie Hall, 3 blocks from Central Park. Easy access to markets of any kind and the subway.

Talk to the concierge, they take great care of you. Right down to the limo style taxi that gets you to and from the airport.

When they say, sleeps four, it will, but don't try to stay in the room together for any length of time. It is a beautiful room, but a tight squeeze.

Use of the internet access made getting tickets for everything easy. Order it in the morning and it is at will call by the matinee on Broadway, or in the evening at Madison Square Garden.

Our stay was in Jan. but when you plan to dress appropriately you don't miss a thing.

LOVED New York, loved the Manhattan Club, don't plan to stay anywhere else.

We have recently came back from a 7 day visit at The Manhattan Club. Very nice location, close to everything, very friendly staff. The room was wonderful. We had the 1 bdrm/2 bth, it was a nice space. We did request a rollaway bed because the hid-a-bed was a little rough. I would definately recommend and will stay there again!

Stayed here twice now, Fourth of July week 2005 and Apr 06. Both times in 1 bed/2 bath units - rented from owners. These units are very spacious, especially for NYC. Great location - Central Park, David Letterman, Times Square, Rockefeller Center - all within walking distance.

Only negatives I experienced: Hospitality Fees ($25 daily), inattentive bellmen.

Would buy timeshare if came across good deal for 1 bd/2ba.

We so enjoyed our stay at the club; this is a fabulous location, a wonderful room with compact but convenient amenities, and great service. We were extremely pleased and would jump at the chance to rent this timeshare again! The elevator is very slow, which was our only complaint in an entire week of delight.

Just came back from the Easter week vacation at this resort. Great location and service provided.

The one bedroom unit is clean, nicely decorated and comfortable for family of four. Time Square at night is the place to be. Saw two broadways shows, love it!

Its interesting to note from reading the reviews that the service and accommodations have done "down hill" since the place opened! New Yorkers do have "attitude" but for a timeshare staff to be this way reminds me of the Bahamas! There - the workers could care less about anything!

Look at the reviews from when they were first placed to 2006. What a shame that the only timeshare in NY has gone downhill! Helen Sabin

We have stayed here for the past three years the week after Thanksgiving. We have found the units to be clean and the service great. Have found that the corner units do get cold that time of year, but maintinance was more than willing to help.

So close to everything, will continue to come to the Manhatten Club.

We exchanged into this resort and spent a week in September here. We stayed in a one bedroom/ two bath unit. It was REALLY small and cramped for our family of four. We learned that they have different size units there in the one bedroom/two bath category. Unfortunately, we got the smallest size in that category. With the sofa bed pulled out, there was just barely enough room to sit at the table.

We were high up, in a corner unit. The windows were too dirty to see the view. The furniture and carpet, though not worn, was stained and did not feel clean.

The location was excellent.

The front desk staff could not find at first any faxes sent to us and denied receiving any of them initially. Each time we were expecting a fax we had to insist that they had it and even then, we were given only some of the pages. No apologies from the staff and quite a bit of "attitude" and overall reluctance to search for them.

It is a bargain for the location, but do not expect courteous, thoughtful or efficient service.

Great place to stay. Right where you want to be near everything and oh, so comfortable when you return to it after a day of being crampt in the rest of the city. Spacious rooms, very nicely maintained and a much better value than ordinary hotel rooms once you realize that tax is not added on at the end.

We'd certainly stay here again and again.

Stayed in the Jr. Exec. Suite for 7 nights in Feb., 2005. GOT REALLY LUCKY AND FOUND THIS UNIT ON AN EXCHANGE THRU RCI (it can be done)! Resort is top notch, staff attentive, luxurious amenities. The Jr. Exec. Suite (studio) was very adequate for us (just my husband & me). Only complaint was the bed - too hard for our tastes - and queen size - a resort of this caliber should have king size beds. Resort is close and convenient to most everything you would enjoy visiting in New York City. Took the sales tour - too much $$$$ for our blood, but no high pressure or rudeness when we declined interest. Very nice gifts offered for having gone thru their sales pitch. Really enjoyable vacation.

To say we love this place is not giving it enough credit. The staff is excellent. We always feel like we are going to our second home. We have just purchased our second week and can't wait to spend more time in New York City. We break up our time with daily trips into the city, so we feel we are having a "mini vacation" each time we go.

One of the best purchases of any type that I ever made. Amazing midtown location helpful staff, nicely appointed rooms, no hassle reservations, first class. Walk to Saks, Rockefeller Center, Central Park, St. Patrick's and theatres. The ability to divide the days up and stay for only a day or two is unique. Decent size for NYC apartments which tend to be teeny, tiny; jr./exec suite size can be a little small though still larger than a regular hotel room. Prospective buyers should know that not all owners have same rights (for example, weekend access). If purchasing, be sure you know what you are getting.

Contrary to what one reviewer ( User: klraus) has stated, it is not "dishonest" to state that the full master suite (1 bedroom/2 baths) can accommodate 5 persons. The MC provides a roll-a-way bed (very comfortable mattress) for a 5th person. We have often made use of this provision to accommodate our family of 5.

It is by far the best we have ever stayed in, staff were very helpful at all times, went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We enjoyed our stay, so much, we would like to go back again. OUTSTANDING location and staff assistance. I wanted to purchase an apartment size (2 rooms, 2 baths) but got too many nasty opinions from family that was not as fond of NYC as I am. I was able to purchase a one- time (one year) resort accommodation and LOVED it. I am now looking to rent from an owner since I want to return to the best this year.

Great location! Daily housekeeping -- the executive suite was a little small for 3 people but we didn't spend a lot of time in the unit anyway. Disappointed that they did not provide bathrobes for us when we checked in. Just before checkout, I saw a hanger with a notice that we would be charged if the bathrobes were missing. Just so that there would be no confusion at checkout, I immediately called the front desk and told them they had never provided any bathrobes (supposedly they were really nice .. but we never got to experience them ...)
